And so it begins again for Mr Too Tough and Mrs Weak and Spindly, as they trundle off to walk the Francigena Britannica from London to Dover (almost a repeat of our 2022 Pilgrims’ way), then on to Dover, ferry to Calais in France and a drive over to Reims. Reims has a special place in our hearts as that is where we ended our 2022 attempt to get to Rome on the Via Francigena (bicycle mishap, very angry ankle, I blame Ken) but it is also where we continued our journey, reaching Rome in 2023. Ken’s brilliant idea is to connect the Via Francigena from Reims to where we started our 2019 pilgrimage to Santiago de Compestela.  We will walk basically the length of France (gulp!) along the pilgrimage routes of the Via Campaniensis and the Voie de Vezelay.  This time we are bringing along our two adult sons for company…
